So-called "Druid stones", also called "sugar stones" are peculiar to this area. They are limestones and come out of the ground in soft, rounded shapes with an outer coating of an iron compound which gives them a reddish brown or purplish patina. They can be use as garden ornaments, fashioned into tables or benches, or used in a water feature. Needless to say, no two are alike and supply is limited.
